A Case Study on the Bullitt Center: Realizing Net Zero Energy
The Cascadia Green Building Council would like to invite you to our September signal issues panel workshop discussing “Net Zero Energy” co-hosted by the Workshops and Emerging Professionals Committees. We have invited an expert panel that took part in the responsibility for making this project a reality and most importantly the expertise to ensure that it works. This is an awakening topic to both seasoned pros and those newer to the field who are interested in what's possible in realizing energy independence. We're excited at the prospect of generating some lively and powerful dialogue, a great networking opportunity, and a bit of fun too! We'd love to have you join us and share your perspective!
"The Bullitt Center, the Greenest Commercial Building in the World"
Anyone asked to describe the Bullitt Center is likely to begin with its large, visually arresting roof. To capture enough solar energy to power a six-story building in cloudy Seattle, an expansive roof is essential. Please join us for a discussion on the design approaches taken and lessons learned from the process. Remember, the workshop series is about conversation, more of a discussion "salon" so come ready to listen, learn and share ideas with industry experts, friends, and colleagues. Please join us!
Moderator: To Be Announced
Panelists Include:
Christian Larocco | LEED GA | Project Manager | Journeyman Carpenter | Schuchart Corporation
Christian LaRocco joined Schuchart Corporation in January of 2005. He also finds time to guest lecture and grade Capstone projects at the University of Washington Construction Management Department. He is currently working on the Bullitt Center project, striving to be the nation’s first mid-rise commercial building to achieve “living building” status. The Bullitt Center will be the tallest heavy timber commercial office building built since the early 20th century.
